The Duke at Rancho El Dorado is a par-72 golf course that measures 7,011 yards from the back tees.
After a round on the Duke at Rancho El Dorado, head to Silver Spur Grill for breakfast, lunch or dinner on the patio, which offers vistas of the Estrella Mountains as well as that 18th hole you just wrapped up on.

Nice course, fun course
Very nice course, but a little out of the way from Phoenix. Good course for intermediate golfers as there is not a lot of trouble.
BKR
Glad to get on the course again after the overseed process was complete.
I reside in Rancho Eldarado so the Duke is in the middle of our neighborhood. Great course and would like to become a member at this course soon.
new fuzzy grass
over seeding complete
still watering so ground is soft
very little roll on higher tee shots
course played longer as a result
choose tees wisely
par threes were fairly long and scenic
greens slower than preferred right now
Great course and great layout
Really enjoyed the staff
Course layout and practice facilities are top notch
Cart Path Only
Before a person books a tee time you should state it is cart path only! When I booked it stated 90 degree was in effect. Other than this issue the course was fun!
Greens: very slow due to overseeding but the were consistent.
Fairways: wide open and in good shape, a couple areas will need additional grass seed.
Rough: thick and wet in some areas
Fringe: thick but it was smooth.
Tee boxes: it good shape and easy to hit off of.
Pace of play: was very steady
The Duke is fun to play
The course is coming out of oversees and is in very good condition. Greens are slow at this point but will change as the grass takes hold. A course that can be played by players of all levels.
Good for the $ paid
The course had been recently over seeded so the greens were slow. Some wet areas in the fairway, but overall not a bad course. We would play it again
BKR review
Great conditions right after the overseed process. Course played well.
No maintenance warning
Golf course had begun the overseed process. I understand this happens this time of year, however, there was no warning from the course on the GolfNow site or the course website. Courses NEED to give a warning. Tees on the front nine were covered with dethatched grass that was 2 inches deep. Had to use my foot to clear them off. Fairways were not being watered, sand traps are full of rocks. I would never have played this course if I had known of the major maintenance being done. The good thing is that I called GolfNow and they refunded my money. I will never play this again!

Members Preferred/Tee Boxes Disarray
1st: This our 1st time here, our friends recommend the course.
2nd: Head off to the 1st Tee, they Tee boxes were just cut & all the loose grass was covering the ground, no makers to be seen, had to guess which box is what, then clean out an area to Tee off as if I’m in a batters box. This was the case for most of the front 9 tee boxes.
3rd: While moving along with our round as we were teeing off on #7 the course starter drives up to our foursome just as I was teeing off, didn’t stop and wait but just continued to the tee, asked “have you ever played here before “?. Our friends said Yes, he then says the group behind of 5 are members and usually play 18 in 90 minutes would like to play through, not to cause any issues we all agreed .
I teed off, our ladies teed off and we went to our 2nd shots still waiting for the members to arrive on the tee box, finally after the ladies hit their 2nds, the group of 5 teed off, played through. No a big issue.
However from number 8 through number 18 they held Our group up, why?? I thought they played in 90 minutes?? The delays on every hole due to that group added to the frustration of just how bad the courses shape was.
Dormant fairways, while most AZ courses have now. Grown their green grass, brown & hard greens from lack of water, groundskeepers cutting grass & blowing dust all over the place.
Not a professionally run course.
Fairways burned out
Probably in better shape when temps cool off. Appreciate the bargain summer price, but will wait grass in fairways before returning.
Great value
Well laid out course and can be challenging from the back. Good greens. Very friendly staff.
It's always a pleasure to play the Duke. Monday seems to be the day to play. My partner and I finished in just over three hours.
Great day if golf
Course is in great condition, greens were rolling extremely well. Will for sure be back
Severe weather the night before
I’ve never played this course before so I don’t have anything to compare it to. There was a lot obstacles and flooding from the storms the night before which created some frustration - Not at the course. They started us on the back nine because of the amount of cleanup they needed to do on the front nine. The pace of play with the first nine was great. Then we got the second nine and it was brutal. I do understand why, it just felt like it could have been managed a little better. I’ll still come back to play.
