Starr Pass
Great course. weather was great, upkeep is great. greens were pretty sanding for this round, but have had them perfect prior. pace was great.
clubhouse bar closed at 4p which wasn't great for an afternoon tee time.
Fresh winter rye grass
I love Starr Pass a gem of Southwest Tucson. Wonderful course layout, takes advantage of natural landscape, and had freshly reseeded winter rye.
Thank you so much for your kind words and positive review! We're thrilled to hear that you enjoyed the golf course and found the conditions to be to your liking. We take great pride in maintaining the course and providing a top-notch experience for our players. Your feedback is greatly appreciated, and we look forward to welcoming you back for another round of golf in the future. Thanks again for your support!
Some awkwardness
The staff support at the start left something to be desired. I was paired up with another single, but go no instructions or direction as to which of the three nines we were supposed to tee off on. As it is we went to the one we thought we were supposed to be playing and turned out wrong and we had to backtrack and join up with another twosome on the third hole of a different nine.
On course amenities were so-so, water wasn't iced, bathrooms hard to find. On the whole, not up to expectations for a "resort course" experience.
Thank you for taking the time to provide us with your feedback. We're sorry to hear that you encountered some challenges during your recent visit to The Club at Starr Pass. Your comments are important to us, and we take them seriously as we strive to continuously improve our guests' experiences. We assure you that we are actively addressing these concerns with our team to ensure a higher standard of customer service.
We hope you'll consider giving us another opportunity to serve you in the future. We are committed to providing a more enjoyable experience, and we would welcome the chance to make your next visit a truly exceptional one.
Thank you for your feedback and for choosing The Club at Starr Pass.
Starr Pass needs some work
Played SP first time since management change. Hopefully this is not South of things to come Tee to green the course was in great shape, but the greens were in terrible shape. not what SP has been up to in the past. Staff and amenities are as good as always.
Thank you for providing your feedback. We genuinely appreciate your comments regarding the course conditions, staff, and amenities.
We're pleased to hear that the staff and amenities met your expectations, and we want to assure you that we are working diligently to bring the greens up to the same standard. After the completed overseeding process we experienced unforeseen circumstances that affected the greens. Our team have since addressed these issues aggressively by laying sod and performing other repairs.
We hope to have the opportunity to welcome you back soon for a more satisfying round.
Thank you for your understanding and continued support.

Awkward

Better to call before booking
First off, I really enjoyed my round at Starr Pass. We were staying on site in the golf suites (which were great), so it was very convenient and our first round in Tucson. The course layout was excellent, very fair and varied from hole to hole. Definitely not cookie cutter. My one criticism of the layout is the tee boxes could use better signage. My son was playing the tips and they were sometimes hard to locate. The course conditions were above average overall, tees and fairways were excellent, but the greens had a fair amount of dead areas and were probably on the low end of all the courses we played. My biggest negative from the round is the course has 27 holes, we booked Rattler/Roadrunner as they were highly recommended. When we checked in, we were told that Roadrunner was closed, our rotation would be Coyote/Rattler and they were both cart path only. I'll never understand why courses who use online booking feel this is okay to pull with their guests without prior warning. I'm in good shape, but for some players this is a deal breaker in 100 degree heat, not to mention, not what we paid for. All that being said clubhouse personnel were all very friendly and helpful. Cart girl made plentiful visits and was also very personable. To sum it all up, nice course that could be a little better maintained, great desert views that make you forgive the conditions a bit, but call and check with the clubhouse for any unusual circumstances before booking.
Thank you for sharing your detailed feedback about your round at The Club at Starr Pass. We're delighted to hear that you enjoyed the overall experience. Your positive comments about the course layout, fairness, and variety of holes are much appreciated.
We acknowledge your feedback about the tee box signage, and we will certainly look into improving the clarity of directions, particularly for those playing from the tips.
We apologize for the unexpected changes in your booked rotation and the inconvenience caused by the cart path only policy. We understand the importance of transparent communication and have since ensured that such information is provided in advance through our online booking system.
We're pleased to hear that you found our clubhouse personnel to be friendly and helpful. Your comments reinforce our commitment to providing excellent service.
Thank you for your understanding, and we appreciate your constructive feedback. We hope to have the opportunity to welcome you back for another round in the future.

101 degrees but still worth it.
Played Rattler and one other 9. Last year Rattler was not over seeded and the ball rolled forever. This time is was plush and very little carry. Key to enjoy is picking the correct tees and not being greedy. Great course.
Thank you for sharing your experience and providing valuable feedback on your recent round at The Club at Starr Pass. We're delighted to hear that you noticed the positive changes in the course conditions.
We appreciate your positive comments and are thrilled that you consider our course a great one. Your satisfaction is our priority, and we look forward to providing you with many more enjoyable rounds in the future. Thank you for choosing our course, and we hope to welcome you back soon.

Greens are struggling
The after overseed is going ok but something is really going on with the greens!! They are having to cut out large chunks and re sod! Not sure if it’s diseased or invasive grasses?? $95 is not the correct price right now! $65 at absolute highest! Fairway’s and tees are good but poor quality greens.
Thank you for taking the time to share your concerns about our golf course, we appreciate your feedback. We apologize for any inconvenience you've experienced due to the issues with our greens during the after overseed process.
We want to assure you that we are actively addressing the challenges with the greens, and our team has taken measures, including cutting out affected areas and re-sodding. Due to some unforeseen maintenance issues, the greens were not in the condition that we would like to see. While we understand the importance of providing a top-quality experience, we acknowledge that we have fallen short of your expectations.
We genuinely appreciate your feedback and hope you'll consider giving us another chance in the future. If you have any further comments or suggestions, please feel free to reach out to us directly. We value your patronage, and we are dedicated to delivering an improved and enjoyable golfing experience for our guests.

Frustrating play due to poor course management.
After we checked in we were advised by the starter that the front 9 would be cart path only. We should have been advised of this much earlier by text or email, or by GolfPass.
This meant we had to march back and forth across a very hilly course in 90+ degree heat. And even so managed to finish the front 9 in less than 2.5 hours, right behind the group in front of us.
We then started the back 9 looking forward to a better pace of play with less huffing and puffing. But the cart GPS started covering the screen on every hole blocking the course information we needed with a message saying we were behind pace and the course marshall may ask us to skip a hole. Of course there was no place for us to go since we were right up on the group ahead of us, and when the marshal did drive by he just gave us a friendly wave. But still on every hole the same irritating message popped up on the screen covering the info we needed to make our shot. It was easy to delete, but time after time this message came up reminding us of what a unnecessarily difficult time we had on the front 9. If the course management is going to create conditions affecting the pace of play, they should adjust the time on their pace of play clock or turn it off.
We finished the back 9 in 2 hours 15 minutes, even with waiting on the group in front of us on multiple holes.
All in all, this was not the enjoyable experience it should have been and definitely was not worth the money.
Thank you for sharing your experience with us, and we sincerely apologize for the challenges you faced during your recent visit to our The Club at Starr Pass. Your feedback is incredibly valuable, and we take it seriously.
We regret any inconvenience caused by the cart path-only requirement on the front 9. We understand the importance of clear communication and will review our procedures to ensure that such information is conveyed to our guests well in advance.
Regarding the cart GPS messages affecting your play on the back 9, we appreciate your patience and understanding. We will investigate the issue immediately to ensure that our technology enhances, rather than hinders, your enjoyment of the game. Adjustments will be made to prevent any unnecessary disruptions to your experience.
Your satisfaction is our top priority, and we genuinely apologize that your visit fell short of expectations. We value your feedback.
If you have any further comments or concerns, please feel free to reach out to us directly. We would appreciate the opportunity to make amends and hope you'll consider giving us another chance in the future.

Lack of info made a good round just ok.
Called the day before to check on conditions because I knew they'd overseeded recently, specifically asking if it was cart path only. I was told that it was not, that the course was in good shape for my round the next day. I arrive at the pro shop and as I pull my credit card to pay, I am told that it the front 9 (recently overseeded) was cart path only. When I protest being told one thing and now it being another, the person behind the counter says "it's only the front 9". No apology, no offer to refund, just a "oh well, you are SOL" look directed at me. Bag attendee didn't say anything else, didn't put the normal water cup in the cart, and left my bag hanging off the back of the cart by just the strap. Starter then adds to the conditions list, letting us know they didn't have the greens respond to the overseeding as well as they'd liked, and that the greens were in rough shape on that front 9. Thankfully, I played with a father and son duo that were a pleasure to be around, and that turned everything around. A little honesty and empathy would go a long way.
Kinda Sad
After 30 years of vacationing In Tucson, always playing a round at Starr Pass, this is the worst condition I’ve ever seen the course.
Starr Pass Coyote/Roadrunner
Amazing layout among the desert arroyos. Wonderful hilly design with elevation changes and almost no straight holes. Entire course in excellent shape with subtle undulating greens.
Would play again in heartbeat.
Caution for shorter drivers- play the forward tees.
Stellar Hotel Visit, Golf Greens were rough
This Hotel experience was simply perfect. Friendly staff, the one bedroom was just perfect, the views were so beautiful. We enjoyed the lazy river late at night, when it was quiet and we were alone. The next day we walked for an hour against the current in the lazy river, well before the kids and crowd, and I must say it was an outstanding workout. The golf experience with friends was just wonderful, but for $100.00 per person, walking 9 holes on cart path only , with the greens simply pathetic. Bald patches, sand, terrible. A 2 foot putt? Good luck as to where it goes. The Roadrunner side was better, but they should not be charging that rate for when the course is in this condition. I LOVE Starr Pass, and we will most certainly return, but this golf day was challenged by bad green conditions for the cost.
GUR
GUR should stand for greens under repair. Very disappointing conditions on the greens. Pace of play was terrible and there were no marshals. The layout has never been a favorite but on previous visits conditions were quite good.
Starr Pass
Coyote was cart path only. We had called to check on this issue and pro shop said carts were allowed. We would not have booked the course if we had known this. Greens were in very poor shape. Many dead areas and areas with cut outs of new grass. Very long route to get to 2nd nine, roadrunner. No cart or other warning signs around greens or other cart lock-out areas, cart was stuck 4 times on Roadrunner nine. Very frustrating to say the least. Never saw a Marshall on the course for assistance.
Thank you for your positive review and for highlighting the aspects of your experience at The Club at Starr Pass.
We appreciate your understanding regarding the greens, and we want to assure you that we continuously strive to provide the best playing conditions possible.
Your feedback regarding the clubhouse bar hours is duly noted, and we apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused. We have since reviewed our operational hours to be open from 11:00am to 8:00pm every day.
Thank you for choosing our course, and we look forward to serving you again.
